Blackjack strategy for beginners
Blackjack is one of the few casino games out there where a bit of skill will equate to more money for you so if you’d like to hear some hot tips for Blackjack strategy then you’ve come to the right place as that’s exactly what we’ve got for you today!
With Blackjack strategy it’s all about knowing when to stick and when to twist as sometimes you’ll have a hand where you’ll want to take another card yet later on you could be dealt that same exact hand and want to stick. The main reason for this is you’ve got to play against what the dealer is showing!
In Blackjack the dealer must always twist when they have 16 which means the dealer showing a 6 is always good for you since the odds of the dealer getting a 10 then busting their hand is quite high. This means when you have those awkward hands you’re not sure of such as 14 or 15 the correct Blackjack strategy is to stick with your hand when the dealer is showing a 6. Why take the risk and potentially bust your hand when there’s a good chance the dealer is gonna bust their hand anyway?
Likewise if you have a hand of 15 or 16 while the dealer shows a 10 you’re going to want to take another card as well over half the deck will improve the dealer’s hand to a 17 or better instantly losing you the hand. So when deciding when to twist or stick Blackjack strategy would say look at the dealer’s card first!
The double up strategy
The second piece of Blackjack strategy is regarding when you should take the double up option. The double up option lets you take one more card exactly after doubling your bet and most players will use this play when they are dealt 10 or 11. Once again a good Blackjack strategy will tell you only to do this when the dealer is showing a favourable card!
If the dealer is showing a 10 or 11 just like you then you have a 50/50 chance of winning the hand, but if you’re only ever allowed to take 1 more card while the dealer has the choice to take a second if needed you’re going to lose the hand more often so you won’t want to be playing for higher stakes! As the dealer shows lower and lower cards though the odds definitely swing in your favour which is when you want to use this option!
So if you’re looking to learn a good Blackjack strategy then these are the first two tips that you’ll want to learn!
